Reporting into the Global Head of Credit & Portfolio Management, the role holder will set and implement the strategy for the Europe & Americas region (CPM EA) and achieve CCIB business performance objectives. We are looking for an experienced people leader to lead a function that empowers better and faster decision making by the frontline and reinforces first line ownership of risk. The role will set and provide transparency and global consistency to complement the current Risk and Finance functions.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Actively participate in the development and execution of the CCIB strategy in the EA region. Collaborate with Regional CEOs, Regional CCIB Heads, as well as various functional heads in the region to ensure alignment of CCIB business strategy and its implementation in the region.
  • Leading a team to provide transparency on transaction risk/returns and advising relationship managers to ensure the right kind of business is originated.
  • Monitoring the portfolio for potential credit issues and reducing exposures through secondary distribution and/or hedging - thereby playing a key role in reducing concentration risks and freeing up regulatory capital.
  • Optimising the portfolio, specifically reducing RWA in sub-optimal return relationships and the Stressed Assets Group portfolio.
  • Amongst other responsibilities, the CPM function will define the future "revenue profile", incremental risk for the portfolio, change/ performance management, and liquidity management (including liquidity pricing and availability across various units)
  • Working closely with Group Treasury on liquidity optimisation, through membership of SC Bank ALCO and ongoing projects employing distribution techniques to support generation of contingent liquidity.
  • Growing a culture which understands and evaluates the constant trade-offs between new business, risk and capital deployment.
  • Helping drive financial performance against targets and managing CPM budgets, including meeting long term economic revenue (RoRWA) goals and RWA targets.
  • Maintaining appropriate frameworks and managing reputational and credit risks appropriately alongside direct reports and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Degree educated and/ or significant demonstrable experience within a frontline business or Risk reporting role or working very closely with the business
  • Prior experience in originating or assessing highly structured or complex financing transactions with a solid understanding of credit risk management principles and techniques.
  • Appreciation of fundamental drivers of portfolio and balance sheet management; including market and regulatory dynamics.
  • Experience in asset distribution, credit derivatives and asset securitisation.
  • Established understanding of the regulatory landscape.
  • Postgraduate qualifications such as MBA, CFA, Chartered Accountancy are desirable but not required.
