CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Manitoba First Fund (MFF) is the newly announced venture capital fund created to help drive economic growth in Manitoba.  As an independent, arm’s-length, professionally managed, venture capital management company, MFF will be instrumental in helping Manitoba businesses secure capital to grow and thrive.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As the founding CEO of Manitoba First Fund, this is a unique and exciting leadership opportunity to progressively build a newly formed, Manitoba-focused venture capital fund.  Reporting to the Board of Directors, MFF’s founding Chief Executive Officer is an experienced senior executive who will be responsible for launching and leading MFF.

The CEO’s primary mandate is to function as MFF’s spokesperson and champion in identifying and attracting to Manitoba qualified professional fund managers who bring demonstrated success in assessing and selecting portfolio companies and in deploying capital profitably.  In many respects, the CEO functions as an ambassador for Manitoba’s equity investment community and, in this capacity, is expected to have a well-developed understanding of Manitoba’s capital ecosystem and the ability to effectively articulate MFF’s position and purpose within that structure.

Together with the Board, the CEO will be responsible for providing the vision and guidance for MFF’s long-term success and growth.  Accordingly, the CEO will lead and manage all aspects of the venture capital management company including working with the Board in developing the organization’s strategic and operating plans; executing the plans; ensuring the corporation’s policies, practices, business dealings and operations are in compliance with all pertinent regulations, good business practices, and high ethical and legal standards; and directing all activities toward the achievement of MFF’s current and long-range goals and objectives.

Qualified candidates are invited to submit their expressions of interest, in confidence, to:
