Portfolio Manager – Private Equity

Vestcor has a full-time position available for a Portfolio Manager – Private Equity.

Located in Fredericton, Vestcor is the largest investment manager in Atlantic Canada providing global investment management services to ten different client groups representing approximately $21.0 billion in assets under management. We also provide administration services to eleven pension plans and four employee benefit plans.

The Portfolio Manager, Private Equity reports to the Head of Private Equity and plays a key role in the ongoing development and management of the private equity portfolio. As a collaborative member of the Equity Investment team, the Portfolio Manager’s responsibilities include sourcing, evaluating, recommending, and monitoring external private equity fund mandates with the goal of optimizing results and increasing the portfolio value to support the investment strategy objectives of Vestcor clients.

The ideal candidate requires a bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record and two to five years related investment experience, ideally with practical experience in private markets and manager selection within an institutional investor context. A relevant professional designation (e.g., CFA or CPA) would be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be driven by results while managing multiple initiatives in an unstructured and fast paced working environment. They should be a team player with good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and have the ability and willingness to travel as required.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.
