What would you accomplish as a Tax Manager ?

This Tax Manager is a brand- new role at FNZ. It is a critical managerial role on our North America n Investment Operations team . You will need to showcase s uperior team communication skills and confidence in partnering with internal and external clients. You will bring your excellent organizational, administrati ve and time management skills. You will be expected to take initiative in a client and delivery focused environment, ha ve superior analytical skills and a self-directing working style.

The Tax Manager would be responsible for daily management, control and oversight of tax operations team inc luding oversight of team tasks, client interaction, and team development. You will be an expert in the FNZ Wealth solution and client tax workshop for new platform implementations, capturing all customer configuration points in service configuration documents . You will provide propositional leadership and support for client onboarding, building capability, and providing support for other members of the team.

This Tax Manager will provide leadership , oversight, and expertise in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of US Tax regulations, US wealth management and/or financial industries , concepts of taxation on corporate actions, wash sales, IRA contribution and RMD rules and required withholding.
  • Knowledge of best practices to process and reconcile tax withholding payment s and filing with tax authorities.
  • Oversee the analysis of transactional data and adjust as necessary in prepar ation of 1099 forms and reports for wealth customers .
  • Fixed income a mortization, accretion , factoring and income recognition rules in accordance with IRS regulations.
  • Partner with external parties such as tax data providers and tax authorities to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Able to operationalize tax regulations and management of tax processes.
  • Able to articulate tax operations to various audience s (e.g., external client or internal stakeholders) .
  • Document bespoke customer requirements understanding the impact of these changes and support delivery/technology team with design solutions.


What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business management, or other related disciplines .
  • At least 5 years of experience in a US financial service and/or wealth management market .
  • Experience in Security Taxation and technology platform services, including, but not limited to :


1. IRA accounts, contributing and RMD rules

2. Cost basis and tax lot rules

3. Corporate Actions

4. Wash Sales

5. Fixed income amortization and income recognition

  • An understanding of the IRS regulatory environment and a good working knowledge of handling regulatory tax change requirements .
  • General investment/wealth/ retirement and pensions products experience within the US market.
  • Investment platform expertise .


What are the preferred skills:
  • Prior experience working in a Custody environment and/or company.


  • Working knowledge of trust accounting , UPIA and 1041 tax returns a plus.
