Role Description:

The Network Operations Organisation is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to be part of the Production Support team working with all Lines of Businesses, CTO/CIO groups and technical teams to deliver Best-in-Class service levels and be responsible for day-to-day support of Operations at a global level analysing, understanding, and helping to drive the resolution of network incidents. The position requires an individual that is innovative with a great deal of initiative and a collaborative, yet proactive approach. The candidate will be expected to troubleshoot and to play a key active role in technical triage in support of complex Network issues and to also work with our Vendor Partners to quickly resolve any service impairment. The ideal candidate should possess an excellent technical skillset, a curious mind and a desire to learn.

The Team:
The team consists of a group of Network Operations engineers, conversant in a range of Data, Security, Voice and Collaboration technologies. The team are based in 3 locations within the UK - Chester, London and Camberley although this specific role will be based in Chester or Camberley. The team has a close working relationship that supports each other and is considered a high performing team. The team is also part of a follow the sun model so this involves interaction with our global colleagues in the AMRS and APAC regions (specifically the US, Singapore and India).

Core Skills:
  • Experience in Wi-Fi network principles and troubleshooting complex problems such as, but not limited to:
    • Tunneling protocols - SSL/TLS, IPSEC, GRE
    • Network Resiliency - HA, local and regional failover, backups
    • Network Security - 802.1x, EAP-PEAP, EAP-TLS, WPA2-AES, and Policy Based Access
  • Experience with Aruba (HPE), including the enterprise controller-based architecture and their Central management product
  • Experience with multiple Network technologies and operation of large-scale network systems
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, SevOne, and other fault management tools
  • Experience with configuration management tools
  • Desired Skills
    • Experience with software engineering/development
    • Proficient with Python and Unix/Linux shell scripts
    • Knowledgeable on JIRA and Confluence
    • Hands-on experience with orchestration tools (Ansible and Itential)
    • Hands-on experience with using source control: Bitbucket (preferred) or Git
    • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with others, initiate action and adapt to change
CCNP certification or equivalent industry experience
