The Role: Relationship Manager
The Team: The Market Outreach team within S&P Global Ratings is responsible for the identification of, development of, and engagement with client relationships across all Ratings practices. This role will predominantly focus on our relationships with investors (asset managers, insurance companies, private equity sponsors, etc.) but also with other key influencers such as advisors and trade associations, etc. The team is global and works closely (in a compliant manner) with the Analytical, Sales and Marketing, and Product Development teams to provide the analytical and commercial businesses with key insights and actionable market intelligence.
The Impact: This position will have the day-to-day responsibility of working on engagement with and development of relationships of key investors and other stakeholders in various ratings sectors, focusing on the Americas Corporates practice.

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 72,300 to $ 143,800. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

- Assume responsibility for the coverage of a number of corporate sectors, requiring them to develop a full understanding of the relevant issues and SPGR's opinions.
- Direct client engagement with investors and others, enabling the development of a market presence.
- The ability to bring back market insights into the business to help develop both our analytical and commercial business.
- Interacting with both the analytical and commercial teams to ensure the effectiveness of the role and the coordination of activities.
- Targeting relevant stakeholders and ensuring that external lists and campaigns remain relevant and current.
- Contributing to the development, alongside analytical teams, of a program of events targeted to achieve maximum impact with relevant external stakeholders (one-to-one meetings, roundtables, conferences, and events, etc.).
- Identifying actionable feedback relevant to the commercial team, such as on innovation, product development, and trends, and relaying that in a timely manner.
- Identifying actionable feedback relevant to the analytical teams around timeliness of research and ratings innovation, market development, trends, etc, and relaying that in a timely and compliant manner to the analytical and research teams.
- Working to ensure key buy-side relationships are maintained to the overall satisfaction level of Investor Surveys and other key external metrics and measurement tools.
- Roughly 3-5 years of experience managing client relationships either in a commercial or analytical environment interacting principally with 'buy side' investors.
- Bachelor's degree as a minimum with a major concentration in either finance, business, or a similar field of study.
- Experience coordinating activities with others, taking ownership of specific stakeholder relationships, scheduling events, interaction, and engagement in order to provide key internal stakeholders with actionable insights.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to facilitate private roundtables and one on one meetings, providing buy-side investors and asset owners a regular platform to engage with S&P analytical teams.
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively within a small team, suggesting opportunities or highlighting insights that may be valuable from an analytical or commercial perspective.
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM platform.
- Ability to undertake strategic projects on an ad hoc basis.
- An interest in sustainable finance, leveraged finance, or direct lending markets and understanding of their likely future development would be an advantage.
- A general understanding of credit rating agencies and of S&P Global businesses and products.
