Job Duties:
Emerging Business Development at HKEX is responsible for developing, incubating and delivering new products, platforms and businesses to take advantage of the exciting mega trends that are shaping our markets, such as ESG, Digital Assets and Data. This role presents a unique opportunity for a highly commercial and analytical candidate to work within the Green and Sustainable Finance team (GSF), working hand in hand with ESG knowledge, NGOs and technology partners across spectrum of green initiatives, including the launch of new Green products and services and the continuous development and promotion of STAGE, our Sustainable and Green Exchange.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of GSF's strategic initiatives, for programs within, but not limited to, the development of HKEX's Sustainable and Green Exchange (STAGE) and the launch of new Data, Financing and Carbon-related products and services
• Be well versed on ESG market trends, be forward thinking to be able to identify future opportunities for HKEX in this space
• Actively engage external clients, business and technology partners for the successful rollout of these initiatives
• Establish strong working relationships across governmental & regulatory bodies and NGOs to promote HKEX's action in Green and Sustainable Finance
• Serve as ESG champion and subject matter expert internally and externally

Job Requirements:

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Policy or other related disciplines
• At least 10 years relevant experience in well-established financial organizations, consulting or sustainability-related firms.
• Thorough understanding of the ESG industry. Experience in Carbon-related products and value-added services, ESG data or Green financing is highly beneficial. Experience in capital markets and exchange technology (including DLT) would be a plus
• Proven track record of managing complex initiatives across departments, socializing findings with senior management and driving topics to conclusion levels (decisions, budgeting)
• High caliber written and spoken presentation skills. Comfortable crafting and presenting content to internal and external stakeholders of different levels of seniority
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience in designing and commercialization products to the market, as well as forming new commercial and strategic partnerships
• Innovative and creative mindset, able to think outside the box and not afraid to challenge the status quo
• Proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua is preferred
• Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Vice President
