Business Analyst, Investment Support

Provide enhanced business support to Columbia Threadneedle Investment CIO office and various teams within the organization. Maintain current reporting and analytics models using Power BI and MS Office tools like Excel, Access. Use a variety of data analysis and organization tools to meet the business needs, solicit product and enhancement requirements from end users and be able to convert the requests from both into a workable solution. Participate on projects within defined scope and responsibility across the CIO organization including investments teams. Identify process improvement opportunities and develop solutions. Facilitate activities within identified initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently orchestrate internal cross-organization collaboration
• Administer monthly reporting (Hoshin, Travel & Entertainment and AUM) and meet established deliverable dates or tight timelines
• Build, maintain and update reports or dashboard using Power BI
• Ensure and maintain best practice for databases, spreadsheets, dashboards, datasets, reporting and other business intelligence tools
• Analyze current business processes and make recommendations for improvement based on industry trends, business needs and professional knowledge
• Work directly with team and business lines to identify and understand the needs of the business
• Simultaneous/sequential project management to meet delivery objectives
• Assist with required company governance regarding general compliance processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 1 - 3 years' analytical experience with proven proficiency in synthesizing data into meaningful and digestible data points and actions
• Post-secondary education and relevant work experience are interchangeable
• Power BI experience or similar data management/reporting platform
• Advanced Excel and Access

• Ability to understand and write VBA for Microsoft Applications.

• Strong work ethic, high standards for accuracy and high level of personal accountability
• Ability to communicate effectively on recommendations and analysis results and establish and maintain strong relationships across the organization
• Strong and effective analytical and problem-solving skills using data and the ability to apply technology as a solution

Preferred Qualifications

• Advance Microsoft Office Suite

• Asset Management Knowledge
• 3+ years analytical experience with proven proficiency in synthesizing data into meaningful and digestible data points and actions
• Strong knowledge of finance concepts and practices
• Experience on web-based applications
• R or Python basic understanding
