We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Strats Associate Director.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate end-to-end delivery, driving business and FRM stakeholders, to ensure that the commercial outcomes for our projects are realised once the Strats components are delivered
  • Progress production-quality strategic components and infrastructure, while remaining responsive to immediate project priorities and a dynamic environment
  • Build and maintain positive relationships within the FRM stakeholder community (including region, line of business, function, and wider Chief Commercial Office stakeholders).
  • Act as trusted advisors, partnering with stakeholders and providing constructive challenge
  • Establish and build Strats as "hub organization", generous with our knowledge and expertise, and connecting disparate teams
  • Demonstrate strong communication and influencing skills across peers, management, and colleagues, locally and globally
  • Identifying and removing barriers to change
  • Effective time-management and prioritisation, with appropriate and timely escalation for support as required
  • Focus on driving results, even under pressure, through personal drive, perseverance
  • Influence priorities of collaborating teams and stakeholders to ensure projects and initiatives are executed on plan
  • Provide guidance to junior colleagues
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects HSBC's brand
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment
  • Ensure projects adhere to HSBC's Operational Effectiveness & Controls policies
  • Comply with all required internal policies and external rules or laws, taking into account all of the relevant policies and rules applicable to any given business process
  • Ensure all team members are aware of their obligations in regards to internal policies and external rules including those relevant to data access and control, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions and other reputational risks
Requirements

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5-10 years broad-based banking experience in financial services with preference for those who have focused on credit, rates or cash management markets
  • Deep knowledge of software development and experience in a range of coding languages, Python preferred
  • Strong commercial acumen and execution capabilities
  • Proven track record within a Strats / quant / analytics / data function
  • Experience with financial data and data analytics
  • Motivated quick thinker with innovative problem-solving skills
  • Highly numerate with strong background mathematic disciplines e.g. computer science, statistics, physics, engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience of preparing and presenting recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Result oriented and team player
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in model development and lifecycle desirable
