We are seeking a creative and talented UX senior generalist (research and design) to join our growing UX organization, helping to deliver exceptional, intuitive, and joined-up experiences for Risk Management, Compliance, Finance and HR systems, which are used by hundreds of thousands of Citi employees every day.
You will join the elite GFT Central UX team, which has responsibility for leading UX across the organisation - driving standards, enabling, empowering and educating UX staff, and stepping into hands-on strategic projects as needed.
The central team takes the lead on standards, best practices and tooling for the organisation, and you will have a role in shaping and developing these standards, as well as reaching out into global UX and development teams to give expert support and guidance on standards, practices and tools.
The team also has capacity to step into high-profile projects, partnering with product, business and technology to understand the problem space, using co-creation and workshops to formulate solutions, and then creating intuitive and delightful UX designs that create best-in-class experiences for our clients.

Responsibilities:
- Lead meetings with users, product and technology to understand project requirements
- Generate UX research, lead information architecture and user journey design
- Identify metrics and data that can support decision-making, guiding tech partners where needed to add necessary metrics
- Work closely with users, stakeholders, product managers and development teams to brainstorm and co-create ideas, approaches, and solutions
- Perform relevant testing to validate and inform design decisions
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma, along with our established Design System
- Apply a positive and constructive attitude to all feedback
- Use and contribute to the approved design system
- Contribute to design standards and best practices
- Perform detailed handover to development teams, ensuring they have all they need to implement the designs
- Provide ongoing support to development, with regular UX review checkpoints ensuring quality and spec are as designed
- Keep up to date with the latest UX practices, innovations, and tools
- Ensure all designs comply with ADA/WCAG standards for accessibility
- Deliver on-time, identifying and managing risks to ensure timelines are met, and escalating where needed
- Help to train, support, and develop junior team members
- Confidently challenge the status quo, encouraging all involved to address root causes to ensure the best outcome for users
- Contribute to the wider UX community of practice
- Identify and articulate design and technical conflicts between colleagues and/or local stakeholders and help to resolve these.
- Promote the value of UX within the wider organization
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Significant proven relevant experience
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and problem-solving
- Significant experience on complex, enterprise-scale design projects
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent skills in professional design tools e.g., Sketch, Figma, AdobeXD, Axure, InVision etc.
- Experience in using/creating design systems
- At least one formal UX Qualification
- Keen interest in, or knowledge of, banking or finance
- HTML/CSS Development Skills Participation in external UX groups or communities
