Overview

Acts as SCM subject matter expert, responsible for the definition and implementation of the technical methodology of the SCM department. Defines SCM plans and scripts/programs. Analyzes and documents systems requirements for the most complex environments. Recommends software design based on requirements. Analyzes and monitors the effectiveness of the use of technology in SCM processes. Structures and monitors technical activities based upon approved project methodologies. Collects and analyzes project data and produces progress reports. Makes recommendations to improve efficiencies and outcomes. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.

Responsibilities:
  1. Scoping, developing and managing plans/schedules/deliverables for multiple or strategic projects ensuring project timelines, activities, resources and budgets are managed appropriately.
  2. Managing stakeholder expectations and negotiating with project stakeholders to determine most accurate and appropriate definition of project scope and schedule.
  3. Liaising with information technology and product development business groups in the interpretation of requirements and the translation into design specifications.
  4. Working closely with offshore resources and vendors.
  5. Tracking performance against objectives and developing corrective strategies when objectives are not being met.
  6. Resolving conflicting priories in scope, schedule and cost for projects among various stakeholder groups.
  7. Coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  8. Participating and coordinating architecture reviews, peer reviews & Process Quality Assurance activities.
  9. Coordinating Product Quality assurance, UAT and implementation activities.
  10. Program communication with senior-level management.

Qualifications:
  1. Strong background of project management and business analysis (5-8 years), with working knowledge of the SDLC
  2. Background in financial data products (both client server and web applications).
  3. 5+ years of experience with relational databases and business intelligence tools, preferably Oracle, SQL Server, Business Objects.
  4. 4+ years of experience in software development - MS Visual Studio, C# or Java.
  5. Exposure to Web application development IIS or WebSphere
  6. Demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects which span both business and IT disciplines.
    Strong communication skills with an ability to effectively lead cross-functional team discussions
  7. Excellent management skills with an ability to achieve superior results in a matrix management environment.
  8. Ability to translate business needs into IT deliverables
  9. Strong business planning, organizing, prioritizing and analytical skills.
  10. Demonstrated ability to work across groups and geographies and with all levels of hierarchy.
  11. Must be hands-on, with ability to work well as member of a distributed team.
  12. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree is preferred, 8-10 years of experience in a systems SCM environment, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
