We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Development Engineering.

Principal Responsibilities

• Writing and developing python code that is maintainable and re-usable
• Performing unit & integration testing of code to ensure functionality is correct and results meet expected behaviour
• Converting technical designs into application code (owning a user story from conception to delivery and packaging)
• Improving the stability and performance of python-based application
• Managing and maintaining python code via industry standard tooling
• Communicating progress with Agile Lead
• Ensuring committed project timelines are met
• Ensuring detailed documentation is maintained as part of the software development lifecycle
• Using Confluence to detail technical designs and user instructions
• Using JIRA to provide progress updates on development work
• Able to manage their own time and workload
• Effectively work with diverse and widely distributed teams
• Collaborate closely with a scrum team to develop novel solutions
• Be able to manage priorities and work from a product backlog
• Be able to advise others on technology solution and explain designs to technical and non-technical

• Have a passion for technology - this represents a great opportunity to broaden experience and gain new skills, it really helps if the candidate has a genuine interest for the technology
• Experience in development of Object Oriented code (such as Python or Java)
• Have experience in Agile delivery, e.g. Scrum or Kanban, experience using JIRA
• Have exposure to cloud technologies and concepts
• Experience of Google Cloud Platform and interacting with Cloud Storage, Big Query and Cloud Logging is desirable but not essential
• Experience of industry standard code management tooling such as GitHub, Nexus, Jenkins
• Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Holistic & persistent problem solver
• Self-driven with the ability to work independently, progressing parallel pieces of development at any one time
• Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
