BlackRock's Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) group provides investment strategies and solutions that employ sophisticated asset allocation, rigorous risk management, and extensive research to deliver specific outcomes tailored to client needs. Through our comprehensive portfolio approach, diversified return drivers, end-to end partnership and technology, our multi-asset platform is crafted to deliver outcomes with more precision. MASS includes specialized capabilities in areas of tactical asset allocation, income funds, target date and target risk strategies, as well as customized solutions through state-of-the-art portfolio construction and asset allocation methodologies. Our team of over 350 multi-asset investment professionals manages a range of pooled vehicles, model portfolios, and customized mandates for a diversified client base. Currently, MASS manages over $900 billion in assets and has a strong presence in San Francisco, New York, London and throughout Asia Pacific.

Your role and impact

The Core Portfolio Management team in MASS is responsible for a wide array of portfolio management activities across both multi-asset and sustainable equity mandates. The team is made up of 58 portfolio managers organized globally with strong regional alignment to reflect different investing centres of expertise. In London, the team partners with the Solutions, Models, Diversified Strategies and Sustainable Investing teams in managing global, multi-asset and equity portfolios held by institutional and individual retail investors. The Core PM team works with client CIOs, model managers and researchers on portfolio construction and new business design, contributes to investment research, handles implementation, and drives improvements across the PM operating platform.

We are seeking a candidate to join our team to build and manage custom multi-asset and physical equity portfolios. Our team sits at the centre of a rapidly evolving asset management industry that is seeing growing demand for whole portfolio solutions able to combine public and private investments managed by both BlackRock and 3rd party managers. There is considerable scope for the right individual to have an impact on both the success of the team as well as the broader MASS business. Your responsibilities

• Designing, constructing and managing multi-asset and/or custom equity portfolios comprised of physical, synthetic and collective fund assets
• Leading daily portfolio management tasks including implementing multiple investment strategies, handling client flows, FX hedging, rebalancing, and monitoring positioning, performance and risk
• Ensuring all mandates conform to performance expectations, investment guidelines, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements
• Innovating in the way we use data and technology to improve and scale our investment and portfolio management decision-making processes
• Collaborating with researchers, strategists and investors across MASS and BlackRock to source and develop investment capabilities and processes capable of delivering consistent alpha
• Contributing to research and establishing good governance and common methodologies in portfolio construction & implementation across multiple investment processes and products throughout MASS

You ideally have...

• Prior experience in a portfolio management, pensions, risk, analytics or equivalent focussed role with demonstrated passion for investing
• Direct experience in managing physical equity portfolios within systematic investment process. Expertise in a variety of instruments and markets such as ETFs and other fund vehicles, derivatives, FX, rates, and credit markets is also preferred
• Understanding of quantitative investment and/or portfolio construction research and portfolio management
• Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to remain focused across a wide range of portfolio types and activities
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Technical skills including Python, Tableau and SQL are preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working independently and/or as part of a team in a highly collaborative, global environment

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock's current hybrid work model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while supporting increased flexibility for all employees.
