S&P Global Market Intelligence 2023 Internship
The Role: Quantitative Research Intern
The Team: The New Product Development and Research (NPDR) team brings industry leading products to market, which enhance client workflows in investment management, investment banking, private markets, commercial banking and insurance, and non-financial corporate and professional services. Spanning public and private markets, the team leverages data inside the S&P Global data ecosystem and enriches it with new external data to create novel solutions that inform the client workflow. Client use cases span investment management, investment banking, private markets, commercial banking and insurance, and non-financial corporate and professional services. The team operates as part of Company Information Services, which provides data and analytics that enable clients to make important decisions.
Within NPDR, the quantitative research group demonstrates the value of new product by testing research hypotheses and publishing results in white paper form. Additionally, the research group develops cutting edge capabilities that enable new product creation via derived data.

The Location: Chicago, IL. Hybrid Internship
Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):
S&P Global states that the anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $21 to $30. Final salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.

What We're Looking For:
- A Master's Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field, graduating in December 2023 or May 2024
- Familiarity with multi-factor quant models and back-testing, within the equities and/or fixed income asset class
- Comfortable working with large datasets and a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or SQL required
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
