Summary:

The Director of Research provides comprehensive support for all aspects of the investment process, including the analysis, calculations and judgment necessary to develop comprehensive investment strategies for current and prospective clients.  This person works closely with the Chief Investment Officer to research, data and new opportunities. The person must have the experience to support excellence in asset management, risk mitigation, and continuously evaluate changing market conditions and develop strategies identified as beneficial to client portfolios. Extensive research of investment opportunities, market performance, and analysis of exclusive research resources is critical to providing such support.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical and experiential expertise for investment decisions
  • Conduct investment analysis, portfolio construction and money manager due diligence using a variety of analytical tools and judgment
  • Responsible for supporting the CEO and Investment Consultants in client and prospective client meetings through both the creation of investment related materials as well as directly participating and presenting
  • Oversight of all Research Team software, databases, and investment related knowledge disseminated throughout the organization
  • Management and maintenance of Research Team processes and procedures
  • Create exclusive communications to clients regarding economic conditions, market outlook or current industry related information/events.
  • Leadership of other analysts on the Research Team
  • Lead collaboration efforts between the CEO, CIO, Trading and other teams for all functions related to investment decisions, portfolio construction, rebalancing, tax loss harvesting.  

Requirements:

  • CFA mandatory
  • CIMA, CFP and/or MBA (in finance or economics) preferred
  • Must relocate to Las Vegas. This is not a remote work position.
  • Enjoys working directly with clients and others. Ability to effectively and concisely interact with clients and employees of all investment sophistication levels, particularly with successfully explaining complex investment principles and terms
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Lifelong learner with a passion for personal development and improvement, and desire to remain at the forefront of industry best practices, trends and legalities
  • Five or more years of experience in financial market and investment research as well as using research resources to recognize changing market conditions
  • Impeccable ability to maintain confidentiality and serve clients with the highest integrity and professionalism as well as maintain a strong commitment to provide excellent client service.
  • Superior verbal communication skills and advanced writing and grammatical proficiency
  • Constant monitoring of industry sources that ICC’s clients tend to peruse, such as Wall Street Journal, BARRON’S, CNBC
  • US citizenship or permanent resident status
