One of the most prestigious American Investment Banks in the New York area is looking to bring a strong Economist onboard to develop macroeconomic scenarios used in stress testing for the firm. This is a role that gets direct exposure to the Global Head of Scenario Analytics from day one and offers a fast-track for upward career trajectory. This role will be a crucial hire for the firm and can help to jump-start the candidate's career at one of the best platforms in the industry.

This role will largely be responsible for developing assessments of risk and generating scenario analysis to be presented to senior stakeholders and business heads, while translating these assessments into scenarios that will impact portfolio drivers for the firm. Collaborating with stakeholders and research economists to develop assessment of emerging risk, along with presenting to senior management and decision makers will also be integral personalities of this role.

The firm is ideally looking for someone who has around 5-10 years of experience in the industry either from a central bank or private sector working as an economist, and with a higher education degree relevant to Economics or Econometrics. Prior experience in the field of macroeconomic research and forecasting is needed, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior management and regulators on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing macroeconomic scenarios used in stress testing for a range of internal and regulatory stress test regimes
  • Provide analysis and assessments of macroeconomic and market risks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and research economists to develop assessment of emerging risks
  • Translating risk assessments into scenarios to impact key portfolio risk drivers
  • Presenting to senior management and decision makers

Qualifications:
  • At least 5+ years of experience in the field of macroeconomic research and forecasting
  • PhD or Master's degree in Economics
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to senior management
  • Familiarity with stress test regimes under Federal Reserve, CECL, ECB and other regulatory guidance is a plus
