We are searching for a Technical Writer who can create high-quality documentation that is easy to understand for non-technical users. You will need to develop product manuals, user guides, website FAQs, and other technical content with accuracy and clarity. You will be working with a small team and will be responsible for writing, editing, and reviewing technical content.

The following is expectations of the position:

  • Create, review, and revise technical documentation, such as guides, system operations documents, user manuals, fact sheets, etc.
  • Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
  • Research on the subject matter before writing on specialized topics
  • Work with subject matter experts to understand the content requirements
  • Edit and update the existing technical content
  • Develop and maintain detailed database of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications


  • Have a degree in English, Communications, or any related field
  • Knowledge of Banking or Financial product and services is a plus
  • Have more than 3 years of experience in Technical Writing
  • Be able to quickly learn and understand complex technical concepts and translate them into engaging content that is easy to understand for non-technical audiences
  • Able to proofread and edit content with minimal supervision

Collaborates with business owners across operations, service, product and technology to understand business initiatives, challenges and priorities that can be incorporated into the learning experience. No direct reports; may provide guidance to less experienced staff. May have people management responsibilities in some geographies. Scope is limited to the quality and accuracy of own work, contributes to the achievement of team objectives.

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in Learning & Development or related field is required. 5-7 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in in training delivery or content design preferred. Understanding of the Bank's products preferred.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $53,000 and $101,775 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
