THE ROLE:

We’re expanding our sustainability team and have an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Advisor located in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Director, Sustainability, you will work closely with the Director to manage all activities associated with PETRONAS Canada’s carbon abatement while ensuring seamless integration with the technical stream. The Advisor will be instrumental in the execution of PETRONAS Canada’s sustainability strategy and ensure delivery of the Company’s emissions reduction and net zero ambitions. As an integral member of the team, you will have broad exposure to all aspects of the carbon abatement project and play a crucial role in ensuring PETRONAS’ meets its strategic objectives.


HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Provide broad expertise, analytical skills and organizational support to the Sustainability team
  • Develop and manage timelines and deliverables for sustainability related activities
  • Collaborate with the broader carbon abatement team to ensure sustainability related activities remain on track and are integrated into overall schedule and planning
  • Work closely with other departments who contribute into the carbon abatement project to ensure supporting deliverables are delivered as per plan
  • Directly impact achievement of PETRONAS’ sustainability ambitions
  • Prepare detailed briefing material and presentations for internal stakeholders including senior leadership

 

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in the energy sector with a preference for roles in finance, engineering, commercial, business development or sustainability
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Sustainability, Engineering, or Geology
  • A professional designation such as P.Eng, CA or CFA will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated experience working on complex projects in the energy sector
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to build excellent relationships within the organization to support program objectives
  • Highly effective written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong business analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and remain flexible when priorities change
