A private equity firm in Washington DC that specializes in buyouts and growth investments in consumer, business services, and healthcare companies is adding an Associate for 2023. The Associate will be an integral part of the investment team, working closely with the experienced investment professionals covering all aspects of the fund.

Responsibilities:
  • Support members of the deal teams, primarily but not exclusively through financial analysis
  • Conduct company-specific and/or industry-specific research, including strategic and financial topics
  • Support all aspects of the due diligence process in evaluating new and existing investments (financial, business analytics, commercial/market, legal, risk, regulatory, IT and HR among others)
  • Develop and prepare complex financial models
  • Prepare investment memoranda, presentations and all other materials required in the investment, fundraising and fund management processes
  • Support the ongoing monitoring / management of portfolio companies
  • Complete additional projects as requested


Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Required: minimum of 2-3 years to maximum of 5 years of work experience in private equity or private credit/debt or investment banking at a top-tier firm (Prior experience in private equity or private credit/debt roles preferred)
  • Undergraduate degree from a leading institution with a strong track record of academic achievement and a GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Detail-oriented with strong finance, analytical and modeling skills
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and deal CRM systems
  • Excellent reading and written communication skills
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, including comfort representing the firm to a variety of senior-level executives
  • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to multitask in a dynamic and decentralized / small team environment
  • Experience managing transaction due diligence and legal documentation
  • Driven, hungry, proactive self-starter
  • Entrepreneurial, commercial and coachable mindset - willing to be agile to devise creative solutions to complex challenges
  • Genuine intellectual curiosity about investing, private equity and business
