About this role

The Onboarding Client Contracting team, part of the Onboarding Client Experience function, plays an important role delivering a differentiated client service experience to all entities that invest with BlackRock.

The Contracting team is engaged in both new client onboarding and managing change events for existing clients. The team focuses on the drafting, negotiation, co-ordination and execution of legal documentation.

You will be responsible for:
  • The contracting process from initial drafting through negotiation to completion for whole-portfolio mandates as well as supporting the broader Contracting team
  • Supporting the team's contribution to this defined and growing business area as well as various other business areas and mandates
  • Clearly communicating documentation changes to internal partners
  • Coordinating with internal partners across functions involved in the contracting process, ensuring their comments flow through to the contract and requisite approvals are obtained
  • Partnering with other BlackRock teams to take on new clients and lead client change
  • Risk management and mitigating risk throughout the contracting process
  • Ensuring the integrity of contractual documentation
  • Identifying process improvements and collaborate with internal partners to implement
  • Representing the team in cross-functional initiatives including technology and workflow innovation

You will have:
  • A legal background or qualification with experience of drafting and negotiating a variety of contract types.
  • Experience of or interest in the asset management industry
  • The ability to independently handle your own portfolio of business
  • Good analytical skills
  • The ability to communicate optimally with internal and external parties
  • An ability to prioritise effectively
  • Regulatory and technical awareness with the ability to provide innovative solutions

Skills/Qualifications
  • Relevant legal qualification or significant similar experience
  • Experienced contract management and negotiation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and presentation skills
  • Ability to deliver high quality legal contracts in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven skills in successfully managing both internal client and external client demands
  • Ability to demonstrate proactive approach to work
  • Strongly proficient on standard software (e.g. Microsoft Office) and ability to learn bespoke systems

Our hybrid work model
