Research Assistant - Structured Finance Ratings - ABCP and Muni Structured Group

We are presently seeking a candidate for a Research Assistant position in the Asset Backed Commercial Paper/ Muni Structured Group. As an analyst within the highly regarded S&P Structured Finance Team, you will assist in evaluating ratings on short-term securities, including Letter of Credits, Tender Option Bonds, Commercial Paper, and Repacks. Analyst will read transaction documents, including repacks and derivative agreements, and analyze credit, structural, and legal risks on the related assets and participants. Candidate will receive an education in credit and liquidity analysis with a focus on linked ratings while getting exposure to the overall fixed income markets.

Candidate should be detail-oriented, tech savvy and innovative with regards to standardizing data, generating reports from multiple sources, and automating processes. Ideal candidate needs to have strong organizational and time management skills and must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time. We are looking for a candidate who has the ability to initiate ideas, work individually, and has motivation to thrive in a team environment. Candidate is expected to have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills (Strong research, writing and verbal skills)
  • Financial modeling/analysis experience
  • Legal document review is a plus
  • Proficiency and critical thinking in sourcing, filtering, sorting, standardizing, analyzing, and utilizing data to build reports.
  • Strong computer proficiency in Excel/Word/Powerpoint (experience with pivot tables, databases, R-studio is a plus)
  • Advanced multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Data organization/management experience
  • Project management experience (leading projects)
  • Bachelor's degree

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $41,100 to $81,575 . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
