What does the Operations area do?

The Operations area provide service excellence in operations focusing on client needs. We do this by ensuring best practices of execution on services related to Funds, Cash/Securities Management and Settlements, Payments, reconciliation, swifts, and control of credit operational business, as well as Account Maintenance documentation (static data). Looking for efficiency gains, automation opportunities, always with the mind-set to follow policies, procedures and regulations, acting as Risk Managers on the day to day. We monitor the bank´s transactions, in a responsible manner, being compliant, searching better executions utilizing available tools and applying Quality concepts. The area interacts transparently with the banking supervisory authorities, audit bodies and with the other functional areas of the Bank always delivering on the Service Level Agreement in place to the customers’ satisfaction.

 

What would be your main responsibilities?

In this role the employee will be responsible for the announcement, management of instructions, payment and reconciliation of Corporate Actions.

 

What are the key day to day activities?

We would expect that with great prioritization skills you switch from task to task and understand what requires immediate attention at any given moment.

 

You will be expected to:

  • Collect information from Custodian
  • Review daily swift, identify and investigate corporate action using relevant market information
  • Prepare and provide client communication e.g. announcement letters for voluntary events to related departments
  • Monitor incoming corporate action information and process and reflect events / proceeds in the banking core system
  • Manage Client’s instructions and acknowledgement SWIFT messages.
  • Check cash and securities reconciliation breaks after reconciliation of custody account

 

What skills / experience do we need from you?

We are looking for the following education, knowledge and experience:

  • Min of 2 years’ experience in Corporate Actions
  • Experience in reconciliation and Investigation
  • Relevant degree qualification with strong academics in economics/finance
  • Good knowledge of and able to analyse all business-related Swift-formats (MT56x)
  • Good knowledge of using Microsoft Office particularly excel and access will be preferred
  • Knowledge of applications such as T24, Bloomberg, Telekurs, X-ACT (Clearstream) GTExchange/GTMatch and Nexen is an advantage
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English, oral and written, is necessary. Any other language is desirable
  • Strong MS Office skills
