Global Alpha seeks to recruit a Senior Operations Manager. This position has been recently created within the firm and is of critical importance to its ongoing growth and success. The primary focus for this role will be to support the continued growth of Global Alpha who has over $7B in assets. The Senior Operations Manager must deeply understand the complex investment processes and technology needs of Global Alpha, and the relationship with CCL Financial Group, in order to help oversee and optimize operations.
What You Will Be Doing
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations for Global Alpha
- Developing, and monitoring operational policies and procedures
- Implementing best practices and risk controls
- Monitor investment operations for timelines, quality, and cost efficiencies
- Analyzing current processes and procedures, and redesigning workflows to increase efficiency, mitigate risk
- Ensuring policies and procedures are documented, reviewed, and up to date
- Liaising with various teams across the CC&L Financial Group to ensure our current and upcoming requirements are being met
- Building strong relationships with various senior management team at CC&L Financial Group
- Working closely with the chief compliance officer (CCO) in implementing all risk policies & best practice procedures and demonstrate continual risk awareness in all areas within our operational scope
- Assist the CCO in day-to-day compliance work (review client contracts and AML, client onboarding, AML, compliance trading alerts, personal trading oversight, and maintenance of the firm’s compliance policies)
What You Bring
- Financial Knowledge: Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics. CFA or a CPA designation. Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Work Experience: Minimum of ten years’ experience in a back-office, middle-office, or administrative environment in the financial services industry with a record of progressively increased responsibility.
- Problem Solving/Analytical Mind: Proven ability to think logically and problem solve effectively. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure, dealing with changes and interruptions while maintaining strict deadlines.
- Curiosity for Learning: The desire to learn processes and improve on operational efficiencies.
- Building Relationships: You have a proven track record of building strong working relationships with various stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail including sorting, filtering, and handling vast amounts of data.
- Entrepreneurial: Willingness to “roll up sleeves”, learn new material, take responsibility, and get involved in the details of operations and compliance issues.
