The State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio) is seeking a Securities Analyst I, II, Senior or Consulting Analyst to join its International Investments team.  Nearly two-thirds of STRS Ohio’s investment assets are managed internally by more than 100 Investment Department professionals. STRS Ohio’s investment returns for the one-, three-, five-, and 10-year time periods ending September 30, 2022, ranked in the top 25% of Callan’s Public Fund Sponsor Database of more than 200 public funds. STRS Ohio also outperformed its benchmark for each of these time periods.

Compensation: Competitive Pay  

Position Summary: Under the direction of the portfolio manager, Emerging Markets, research and analyze international market data and make investment recommendations based on fundamental security analysis with a goal of meeting the long-term performance objectives of the total fund. 

Summary of Responsibilities  

• Conduct timely fundamental macroeconomic and market-related country data analysis on assigned countries and recommend appropriate country allocations. 

• Gather and analyze fundamental industry and company data; including but not limited to, examination of accounting, financial, and competitive factors on assigned international regions. 

• Develop relationships with brokerage-house analysts and investment managers who specialize in industry segments and countries corresponding to those of the analyst. 

• Periodically advise State Teachers Retirement System (STRS Ohio) investment staff regarding key news and developments within assigned countries and industry groups including written and verbal recap presentations.

Summary of Qualifications  

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business administration, economics, statistics, finance, applied mathematics or a quantitatively oriented field required.  

• Master's degree with an emphasis in business administration, economics, statistics, finance, applied mathematics or quantitatively oriented field preferred. 

• Experience performing investment research including analysis of financial data and modeling preferred.  

• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter holder preferred.  

• Ability to conduct research, analyze trends, model proforma financials and make recommendations to other members of the international equities team required.  

• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
