Position Summary

The Senior Analyst, Investment Operations, oversees and is principally responsible for all matters related to investment operations at Bardos. The role will require the candidate to learn new skills and develop expertise across multiple domains, including but not limited to: Fund Accounting, Investment Performance Measurement, Investment Reporting, Portfolio Analysis, Cashflow Forecasting, and Document Management. The Analyst will be a key contributor to the organization, working closely with the Investment and Finance teams to implement new processes and refine existing ones. Over time and as Bardos grows, the position will evolve, requiring the candidate to take on increasing responsibility within the Firm.

 

Core Responsibilities

Support the Finance team by:

  • Providing reasonable assurance that generally accepted accounting principles are being consistently applied to the calculation of any net asset values (NAVs).
  • Ensuring that investment market values and transactions are booked in accordance with firmwide policy and reconcile to received statements.
  • Supporting the treasury function, including cash flow forecasting and liquidity management. This may also involve the setup and approval of wires, as well as cash reconciliation.
  • Developing efficiencies and internal controls to streamline accounting processes, with the goal of accelerating and improving investment operations.
  • Owning the full document management lifecycle, from capture to archival.

Support the Investment team by:

  • Serving as the primary liaison between the Investment and Finance teams, helping coordinate and execute upon cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Ensuring that all investment and stakeholder reporting is accurate and timely, including that related to investment performance measurement.
  • Helping with ad hoc portfolio analyses and investment research.
  • Assisting in various aspects of the investment underwriting and execution processes, including completion of subscription documents for private investments and making updates to the security or account master.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of new processes and systems as they relate to investment operations.

Perform other tasks related to investment operations as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, with the ability to self-direct work in an unstructured, fast-moving environment. Ambitious, with a bias towards action and results. Possesses a positive outlook and superior organizational skills. Shows a strong willingness and desire to learn and improve – a growth mindset. Values professionalism.
  • Excellent communicator, with a keen interest in markets and investing.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Investment Fund Accounting or General Ledger Accounting.
  • Experience in Investment Performance Measurement.
  • Experience using SEI Archway
  • Experience using Solovis
  • A non-exhaustive list of pertinent, foundational knowledge:
  • Knowledge of accounting & financial reporting, investment performance, capital markets, portfolio management, and/or the investment industry more broadly.
  • Knowledge of the unique investment characteristics across a diverse set of asset classes including public equity, fixed income, real asses, private equity, private credit, and absolute return.
  • Expertise using software and other tools commonly used within financial services (spreadsheets, databases, accounting systems, etc.).
