Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Treasurer is responsible for the City’s treasury operations, including cash, investment, credit risk, and debt management, the City’s insurance, risk, and claims portfolio, as well as its revenue collection function, including tax/utility invoicing and collection. In addition, this position develops and implements related strategies, policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have a post-secondary Bachelor’s degree in finance and a minimum of seven years of related experience. A Chartered Professional Accountant designation is desirable, along with familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials and VADIM software. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, proven management skills, advanced communication and interpersonal skills grounded in strong professional judgement and political astuteness. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A current Police Information Check and valid BC Class 5 drivers’ license is required.
