For our private banking activities in Luxembourg, we are currently looking to recruit a:

Sales Quality Analyst

Permanent contract

Role and responsibilities :

As a member of the Front Office team and the Business Management function, you will be responsible for ensuring the correct balance between commercial success and customer interests, in particular with regard to Sales Quality and MiFID requirements. Specifically:
  • Assessing the quality and adequacy given by the Front Office (RMs, Investment Counsellors, and product specialists).
  • Reviewing documentation to ensure it evidences the above and complies with industry standards, MiFID and with HSBC's local policies and procedures (Functional Instruction Manual, Sales Quality Standards)
  • Producing reporting and MI to Sales Quality and wider GPB (Global Private Bank) senior management on the activities undertaken by the Sales Quality team.
  • Working as part of the business to understand the root cause of any Sales Quality issues, identifying and sharing best practice and improving policies and procedures
  • Interfacing directly with Front Office colleagues on a regular basis so that any problems affecting "suitability of advice" provided to clients are resolved, and remedial action is tracked and completed.
  • Deliver the Sales Quality Assurance communication plan
  • Considering the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking into account changes in regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices.
  • Demonstrating adherence to internal controls.

Professional Skills and Experience:
  • Master degree in management, economics, finance or similar;
  • At least 3 years' relevant professional experience in banking sector. Any professional experience of investment sales processes and operational risk would be considered as an asset;
  • Good understanding of banking activities, processes and systems and, in particular, investment products and services;
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of MiFID regulations and Sales Quality standards and sales processes
  • Ability to follow instructions, set priorities and respect deadlines;
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure, while maintaining close attention to detail;
  • A proven ability to "think outside the box" and think of new ways to improve processes;
  • Excellent team player;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications;
  • Capacity to communicate both written and oral English and French at all levels with confidence. Other languages will be considered as an advantage.
