The Consultant, on the Investment Reporting Team, within the Northern Trust Asset Management COO organization, is primarily responsible for supporting the development, compilation and distribution of client and product reporting across diverse portfolio strategies including fixed income, equity, multi asset class, ESG and alternative assets. This role is instrumental in helping to drive future reporting capabilities and infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team member focused on achieving excellence in Investment Reporting for a trillion dollar global asset management firm. Day to day responsibilities include:
- Supports the development, compilation and distribution of client and product reports
- Serves as the subject matter expert on specific Asset Management product offerings with familiarity across all product offerings.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for current reporting capabilities and infrastructure
- Identifies and implements improvements to existing processes to further gain operational efficiency and productivity
- Helps lead future reporting automation to improve platform/infrastructure
- Interfaces with portfolio managers, product and/or sales and servicing to understand new reporting requests and defines and implements solutions to meet those requests
- May serve as a mentor and provide informal guidance and training to junior team members
- Stays abreast of investment reporting capabilities and solutions across the asset management industry to ensure NTAM is competitively positioned
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change
- Ability to operate in a deadline driven environment while still maintaining a strict attention to detail and ability to prioritize issues appropriately
- Conceptual knowledge with Investment Management applications and systems such as Aladdin Blackrock, Eagle, Bloomberg and FactSet preferred
- Solid business analysis and project management stills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
NECESSARY EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- 5+ years of experience in Financial Services is required; Asset Management experience highly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline
- General Knowledge of investment management principles, strategies, and policies and regulations applicable to the investment management industry
- Experience with ESG tools and datasets preferred
- Experience with SimCorp Coric client reporting platform preferred
- Pursuing a CFA, MBA, and/or CIPM designation preferred
- Experience in database/data warehouse, ETL and data management
- Experience with process automation, business analysis
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools; Robotics/automation tools preferred
- Mentoring or supervisory experience preferred
