Job Description:
The Senior Product Developer is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Job Purpose:
A successful candidate will be a member of the International Product Development team for Global Spread Products (GSP) with a focus on Financing and Securitization, Sales, Trading, and Structuring businesses Globally.
The role will focus on understanding the business needs across GSP, gathering business requirements, and then implementing process, reporting or technology changes as appropriate. It will also involve leveraging underlying technology systems and data sources and developing analytic tools/reports/dashboards.
In addition, there will be extensive liaison with multiple functions within the business and support functions at all levels, including Compliance, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Finance, Operations, and Technology as well as liaison with other Markets Businesses both in the region and globally.

Job Background:
Global Spread Products is the primary source of capital for corporations, governments, and non-profits, providing liquidity and innovative solutions globally across the credit, municipal, and securitized markets.
This person will work closely with the front office to build tools and if required productionize them by working with the technology team. The team sits at the intersection of Financing and Securitization, sales, trading, structuring, capital markets origination and technology and is responsible for implementing process improvements and realizing senior management's vision. Our team oversees a wide array of front office systems including pricing and risk, trade capture, inventory management, origination, securitization, sales dashboards, management reporting, electronic trading and database management.

Responsibilities:
  • Create short-term, immediate tools & reporting to improve the business by providing business intelligence, streamlining processes, closing control and oversight gaps or developing a competitive advantage that increases Citi's bottom line
  • Develop prototypes and solutions by understanding end user needs, gathering and documenting requirements then demoing in an iterative, rapid development fashion
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests and reporting, and develop an in-depth knowledge of GSP's Data sets
  • Maintain and prioritize detailed project plans
  • Collaborate with technology counterparts to define requirements and ensure proper governance over applications development, testing and releases
  • Partner with internal organizations such as Financing and Securitization, Trading, Sales, MQA, finance, risk, middle office and compliance to improve cross functional workflows, feeds and reporting
  • Maintain data governance and other global initiatives within GSP product development teams
Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Experience in relational databases & SQL and working with data models
  • Experience in working in Agile/Scrum methodology environments
  • Experience in Python, Java, C++, or R
  • Experience in Tableau or other BI tools are a big plus
  • Knowledge of Qlikview development or other BI tools are a plus
  • Basic knowledge KDB, Hive, Clojure or dependency languages are a plus
  • Basic knowledge of object orientated programing languages is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Global Spread Products products
  • Basic knowledge of financial mathematics, statistics, and reasoning
Skills:
  • Ability to quickly grasp the complex and varied business workflows/processes
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines with changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Multitasking - manages own work slate and knows how to prioritize production related issues against deliverables

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree from an accredited institution with a focus on computer science, mathematics, information systems, or business
  • Must be passionate about technology and innovation within the financial services industry

  • Knowledge of Credit markets
  • Ability to learn new business concepts and technologies quickly
  • Ability to own and drive tasks/assignments while collaborating with peers and Technology teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
