As a Barclays Assistant Vice President- Group Risk, Finance and Treasury Audit Asia, you will have an opportunity to join Asia team within the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA). The BIA RFT Asia team is in charge of providing audit coverage for Asia risk management, finance, and treasury, and global risk production and reporting, as well as provide support to global risk, finance and treasury audits. The role holder will be working collaboratively within BIA to develop strong client relationships which are independent and seen as a respected voice.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We're flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. What will you be doing?
  • Managing audit work to ensure that relevant risks and controls have been identified and appropriately assessed
  • Reviewing and completing processes and documentation of scoping, risk & control identification, control evaluation and observations in BIA audit toolkit
  • Writing high quality observations and audit reports (with input from the audit team)
  • Managing audit teams (when assigned the responsibility) where on a day-to-day basis, working to ensure that audits progress as planned, as regards scope, budget and timetable
  • Updating awareness of risk issues and changes across relevant business units and using this knowledge to update audit approach where necessary
  • Providing complete, accurate and timely information for BIA reporting
  • Being a key extended member of the BIA Global Risk, Finance and Treasury team to support coverage of global activities
  • Proactively taking on additional tasks as requested by the Director for RFT Asia
What we're looking for:
  • Proven working experience in global risk production and reporting, market risk and/or credit risk management activities, financial control, treasury, Investment Banking and Corporate Banking
  • Good communication skills, ability to communicate effectively to senior technical specialists (Risk Managers, Treasurers etc.) and senior non-technical individuals
  • Good knowledge of the evolving regulatory environment (e.g. Capital Requirements Regulation, Basel I/II/III, Stress Testing / CCAR, IFRS 9) and its challenges
  • Qualification in quantitative discipline (e.g. CFA, FRM, CA, CIA)
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Proven track record of senior stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to deliver timely high quality analytical work in a relatively unsupervised environment
  • Good risk and control understanding, financial services experience and familiar with corporate and investment bank Risk function (such as Market Risk and Credit Risk)
  • Displays willingness and initiative to learn and share knowledge, and preferably have know-how and experience on coding in python
