With immediate effect we are looking for experience Data Steward and/or Data Governance Analyst to join State Street Bank & Trust in Massachusetts, US. The main purpose of this position is to assist the information/data governance team in the execution of data governance framework, policy, standards for the Financial Crimes and Compliance (FCC) organization. This position assists in the implementation of an enterprise data governance program.

What you will be responsible for
As a Data Steward (AVP) you will
  • The Data Steward (AVP) is a key position responsible for identifying and resolving all types of data issues working with Business Unit core team and functional Data Stewards, IT, Enterprise Data Governance & Management to ensure high levels of data quality, integrity, privacy, availability, security and usability and adherence to Corporate policies and procedures.
  • Support Day-to-Day Data Stewardship OperationsSupport enterprise data-decision making processes and facilitate discussion to address conflicting viewpoints with the goal of arriving at mutually satisfactory agreements.
  • Understand the enterprise direction, processes, rules, requirements and deficiencies. Support leads as they guide the business and initiative area steward needs for information sourcing; provisioning; consumption; standardization; and reporting & analytics. Support the resolution of data, information and processing challenges that are having an adverse impact on the operational environment and/or business performance. Identify opportunities for improvement and incorporate it in the data strategy.
  • Participate/Initiate data quality efforts working closely with key stakeholders to design, develop and deploy process redesign, and tool implementation, where needed.
  • Develop control structures within the FCC environment to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
  • Ensure controls are in place over applications to ensure the data integrity by performing data integrity gap analysis.
  • Catalogue meta data for the division.
  • Establish data lineage for critical data elements and perform simple data profiling
  • Build the necessary data quality controls working with the IT team
  • Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and IT.
  • Monitor the incoming data feeds and alert any issues in the data supply-chain
  • Perform data wrangling and data analytics using BI tools like Spotfire, Tableau etc.,
  • Perform User Acceptance testing for data management SDLC
  • Work with business partners to gather and understand functional and data requirements, develop use cases / stories for the technology team.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Financial Services Industry is required. A good understanding of information management practices including information lifecycle management, data modelling, master data management and carrying out business audits and requirements gathering (essential)
  • BA/BS Computer Science / Business / MIS (or equivalent work experience to substitute for education)
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of meta data catalog and data mappings, databases and data structures, data models and data domains as well as data governance standards (essential)
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau, Spotfire, Power BI etc (essential)
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to create clear requirements, specifications and documentation (essential)
  • Business analyst experience interfacing between business stakeholders and IT (essential)
  • Demonstrated and proven leadership ability along with proven project / people management skills.
  • Experience working in AML, Compliance and Risk domains (desirable)
  • Have done data management in traditional and/or cloud based (Hadoop) data lake environments (desirable)
  • Have experience creating/modifying ER diagrams (desirable)
  • Have experience working with agile teams (desirable)
  • A good understanding of the agile project management methodology (desirable)
