Roles and Responsibilities
Purpose
  • This role is integral to drive the Reputational, Sustainability and Climate Risk Framework. Candidate will work alongside Country CRO teams to meet local regulatory requirements as well as embed Reputational, Sustainability and Climate Risk framework within countries across AME market.
Strategy
  • In accordance with Enterprise Risk Management framework, drive and implement Reputation, Sustainability and Climate Risk framework in Country along with Country CROs.
  • Implement best practices in the horizon scanning, consultation, policy documentation and monitoring of Reputational, Sustainability and Climate risks related regulatory obligations across AME countries
  • Partner with CCRO and Group teams to integrate Reputation, Sustainability and climate risk management across all principal risk types (PRT's)
  • Support CRO for delivery of a strategic approach for Reputation, Sustainability and Climate risk management
Business
  • Help Country CRO to drives efforts with Businesses, Supply Chain Management, and various Functions to embed Sustainability & Climate Risk considerations into first-line processes.
  • Work along Country CRO to embed enhanced due diligence criteria across various ESG, Sustainability & Climate Risk criteria into first-line processes and ensure first-line are kept up-to-date with evolving risk and regulatory landscape.
  • Support continuous training initiatives for both the 1st line and 2nd line to ensure Reputation, Sustainability and Climate Risk is embedded in BAU risk management.
Processes
  • Provide subject matter expertise in regulatory interpretation and policy formulation through collaboration with Country Chief Risk Officers, CFCC, Legal, First Line Owners, External counsel and other Stakeholders.
  • Help Country CRO to identify new areas of risk to be integrated in the of the process universe for Reputational, Sustainability and Climate Risk
  • Work along CRO to formalise procedures for Reputation, Sustainability and Climate risk as per local country regulatory requirements
  • Review and prepare insights for Sustainability and Climate Risk for AME region to support appropriate risk management and local disclosure
  • Support Country CRO for Climate risk stress testing as per local regulatory requirements
  • Where required, support the operational risk requirements of risk areas aligned with Reputational, Sustainability and climate Risk.
Risk Management
  • Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness becomes apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees on behalf of Country CRO.
  • Where required, act as the second-line for risk areas aligned to the Reputational, Sustainability and Climate Risk RTF and Policy. Review and challenge Standard generation and updates and review control environment for weakness on behalf of CRO.
  • Provide inputs to Reputational, Sustainability and climate Risk Framework Owner in the review of control environment for weaknesses.
People and Talent
  • Help to build the appropriate culture and values. Work collaboratively with all relevant partners.
Governance
  • Contribute to overall governance mechanisms (including committee oversight and individual approval authorities) for Sustainability and Climate risk management.
  • Execute on behalf of Country CRO all necessary Climate, Reputational and Sustainability Risk requirements ensuring compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements.
  • Embed the Group's values and code of conduct in Climate, Reputational and Sustainability Risk.
  • Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to the responsible risk governance committees.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Good knowledge of reputational risk management, or other risk-type management for financial services
  • Experience in a discipline relating to Environmental, Social or Governance risk
  • Experience working in a major international banking organisation.
  • Knowledge of financial and non-financial risks and trends.
  • Strong creativity and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills; comfortable in building relationships at senior levels and across teams, with outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Confident self-motivated person with a high level of drive and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
