Vice President, Product Management - Wealth Management

The Vice President, Product Management will play a key role within the Wealth Management Solutions (WMS) business group. This role will be responsible for providing strategic oversight, proactive leadership, and driving financial results for the capital markets business line. Products and solutions include equities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), exchange-traded notes (ETNs), unit investment trusts (UITs), options, fixed income, structured products, closed-end funds and third-party investment research.

The successful candidate must display business insight, be able to make complex decisions, and generate creative and diverse solutions.

Responsibilities

• The Vice President leads a team of product management professionals in developing new products and identifying product enhancements. These efforts require an ability to identify advisor and client needs, understand industry trends, implement changes to adapt to a changing regulatory environment, oversee product approval, and develop strategy for the assigned products.
• The Vice President provides effective leadership to the product management team and is responsible for building strong relationships across the organization including Legal, Compliance, Service & Operations, Clearing, Marketing Communications, Advisor Training, Trading, Sales Consulting, the Investment Research Group and the Centralized Supervision Unit.
• The Vice President also represents the team in high-level consultations, presentations, and ongoing interactions with Ameriprise executive leadership, Field leaders, and cross-organizational teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 15+ years in the financial services industry, preferably including product management
• 5+ years leadership experience, demonstrating proven people leadership skills and ability to form strong cross-organizational relationships
• In-depth knowledge of investments, preferably with experience in multiple product lines among equities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), options, fixed income securities, unit investment trusts (UITs), structured products, closed-end funds and third-party investment research
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Active Series 7 or the ability to obtain within 120 days of hire date

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading large and complex projects preferred
• Active Series 24
