The Role: Consultant - Energy Transition and Decarbonization - USA

The Location: Houston / Washington / Boston

The Americas Energy Transition Consulting Team is a trusted advisor of leading companies in the traditional and new energy sectors, investor, and governments. Typical studies range from energy transition strategy assistance, transaction support, emissions reduction roadmap development, and ESG/Energy policy advise.

This role will contribute to the execution of our team's projects for private and public sector clients with a focus on their transition to low-carbon energy resources, including techno-economic analysis of emissions management options and decarbonization opportunities, as well as developing new low-carbon energy resources.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of consultants and experts with wide-ranging backgrounds in energy and the energy transition. The varied and changing nature of our projects leads to development of a diverse set of skills, and exposure to different industries and clients, including senior industry leaders and policy makers.

Responsibilities:
  • Work on a project team with other consultants, under the direction of the project manager
  • Identify internal and external information sources, gather, and synthesize data, execute analysis, and present findings to team
  • Build and run analytical tools and models as required for consulting projects (e.g., Excel, Python, others)
  • Participate in clients or industry participants interviews and extract key takeaways
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute by presenting aspects of the analysis
  • Contribute to business development and internal practice development initiatives
  • Develop client-ready deliverables in PowerPoint and/or Word
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and excellent academic record required; Graduate degree preferred (including in finance, economics, or business).
  • Familiarity with energy markets and underlying fundamentals, regulations, and policies; specific experience and/or knowledge of specific segments of the energy industry preferred
  • Two to seven years of experience in industry, consulting, or finance environments, in areas related to emissions estimates and management, environmental management and/or plant operations
    • Experience in management consulting will be a significant plus
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills in English and Spanish (Portuguese a plus).
  • Solid analytical skills (Excel/VBA/SQL/Python) combined with problem - solving skills with ability to synthesize and communicate findings
  • Proactive and organized, with strong verbal communication skills
  • Some travel is required average around 20% of time (but could occasionally be more)
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment providing ideas and open feedback.
Grade/Level ( relevant for internal applicants only ): 5

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $58,300 to $115,850. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
