What you will be responsible for: Leveraging Technical expertise and business knowledge function as an Application Architect and lead a small software development team in analyzing business requirements and delivering software solutions. Work with the Enterprise Architecture and the Development manager to design and implement custom or vendor software solutions to meet the challenging needs of various business functions. Serve as a technical lead for the project teams and participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional Agile team and work effectively in all phases of software development lifecycle to delivery business solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expertise on the technology domain
  • Analyze requirements, provide technical architecture and design, and ensure successful delivery
  • Display deep interest and understanding of the business vision and processes, and lead the design and development of the solutions.
  • As required, leads globally distributed teams, mentoring individuals while providing technical oversight for software deliverables.
  • Maintains understanding of capital markets and development skills and applies expertise to support the in-house custom or vendor solutions .
  • Develop and follow the best practices for coding standards related to reusability, application security, performance and scalability
  • Works in conjunction with other Principal Engineers and System Architects to set technical direction and enforce software development standards.
  • Serves as a mentor, guiding and advising junior colleagues through development process and support issues.
  • Documents code and processes to aid in system support and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Communicate effectively with the project teams and the senior management


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience programming with objected oriented development languages such as C# or Java and/or extensive relational database development expertise in Oracle, MSSQL or Sybase
  • Deep understanding of the data and data flows between Investments or Distribution applications and systems
  • Experience building integrations with multi-tiered third-party systems, both hosted and on- premises
  • Project work experience with globally distributed teams is preferred
  • Experience working in a continuous integration environment, i.e., automated build an d code scanning is preferred
  • Strong oral/written communication skills and front office support experience preferred
  • Experience working within an Agile SDLC model; working closely with cross-function project teams to drive solutions to completion
