The APAC Equities CAO is a senior-level position responsible for the overall administrative activities of the Equities business in APAC.

The regional Equities franchise includes Cash Equities, Equity Derivatives and Prime Finance.

In addition, the regional CAO will assist the global Equities CAO and Risk and Control leads to manage key Equities initiatives which impact the APAC region and will work closely with the regional Markets CAO to ensure regional coordination and alignment with regional priorities.

Responsibilities include the tracking of business financials, employee headcount and other administrative needs whilst also managing the risk and control aspects of the business, dealing with external audits, business continuity activities or addressing regulatory issues. The APAC Equities CAO will also coordinate and manage activities across the APAC region such as ad hoc projects as necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for leadership and development of the regional CAO team
  • Manage key projects and initiatives for the business
  • Act as key subject matter expert for the APAC Equities business, booking model and equities product suite
  • Stakeholder engagement to resolve operational risk issues, as well as remediation planning
  • Implement global Risk and Control work streams whilst ensuring that Asia requirements and nuance are catered to
  • Business & Strategy Presentations for senior management and wider employee communication (for example regional Equities Town Hall meetings)
  • Oversee external and internal reviews / audits related to the regional equities business
  • Assist the regional team to manage and execute the New Product Review process for new initiatives
  • Evaluate and approve investment/expenditure requests and capital expenses for all areas/functions
  • Engage in cost management activities, such as validating spending and cost saving initiatives, monitoring savings initiatives and expenses, as well as monitoring consistency between financial information, productivity information and HR reports
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs, propose initiatives and lead creation of direct expense plans in partnership with internal functions and teams
  • Manage and drive the process to set up a continuous cycle of organization/operating model reviews to shape the local organization model
  • Provide leadership and promote business ties with internal and external senior leaders/clients across key businesses, regions and support functions
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Extensive equities product expertise
  • Management experience in a financial services role
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team, complex projects and processes
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven strategic planning and presentation skills
  • Consistently develop and maintain effective work relationships
  • Proven ability to conduct research/analysis and organize findings

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
