The Role:

The M&G plc Treasury & Investment Office (T&IO) is responsible for the management of Prudential UK's With-Profits, Annuity and Unit-Linked funds, with more than £150bn of funds under management. T&IO works closely with the various asset management businesses within the M&G plc Group, and other external managers, to structure multi-asset portfolios aligned with the investment objectives of our clients.

Key Work Level Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for formulating T&IO responses to regulatory changes
  • Leading and implementing regulatory change for T&IO
  • Monitoring and reporting on adherence of T&IO to various regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to and supporting wider company regulatory change and response initiatives
  • Supporting governance, attestation and administrative requirements

Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.
  • Compiling regular attestations on behalf of T&IO, including, but not limited to regulatory responses, compliance checks and policy adherence.
  • Supporting Group Treasury with regulatory attestations, regulatory responses, compliance checks and policy adherence.
  • Formulating T&IO regulatory responses via various channels, including interfacing with compliance and risk teams, and horizon scanning.
  • Project managing compilation of T&IO regulatory responses (e.g. to consultations) and implementation of final regulation
  • Enabling colleagues in T&IO to act as subject matter experts in their own areas rather than compliance or regulatory experts
  • Working with risk and compliance teams to relay T&IO input and opinions on matters such as regulatory consultations, section 166s, and surveys from industry bodies (e.g. ABI).
  • Assist and advise T&IO functions to integrate and implement updated and new regulation in their BAU activity.
  • Leading the Risk Identification process for T&IO, liaising with Risk and SMEs as appropriate, and coordinating necessary updates to Risk ID related documentation on behalf of T&IO.
  • To understand and demonstrate positive conduct in line our purpose, values and behaviours.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

This role is ideally suited to someone who can demonstrate:
  • Knowledge of regulation and investment considerations, along with working knowledge of how regulation affects T&IO functions in their BAU activity
  • Ability to research potentially unfamiliar regulation across topics and jurisdictions, and translate findings into actionable changes in the context of insurance investments
  • A good grasp of all asset classes and their roles in multi-asset and annuity portfolios
  • Comfort in working with and presenting to stakeholders across different functions and knowledge bases
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver work in a flexible manner
