The S&P Global Issuer Solutions and Global Insights development team is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test with strong critical thinking and analytical skills to join our team based in Raleigh, NC. S&P Global is a leading provider of financial services technology, data, and analytics. At Issuer Solutions, we support all participants in the capital-raising process including banks, public and private companies, institutional and individual investors, as well as research, asset management, and wealth management firms.
As an engineer at S&P Global, you will have the opportunity to work as a key contributor on an Agile development team, working to consistently deliver high-quality application code into our CI environment for release to production. Core responsibilities of the position include taking the lead on driving quality practices within your team and thereby helping to deliver a quality product for our clients. You will be expected to be able to provide effective coverage of the application areas owned by your team and contribute to automated checks that will run in the pipeline.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $58,000 - $115,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus/a sales commission plan.

What you'll work on :
- Review features and user stories in preparation for development.
- Define test strategy at a team level and provide support in identifying test ideas and charters for all feature work
- Verify customer defects and help to debrief on how incidents occurred
- Validate defect fixes, ensuring application functionality and stability for production releases.
- Support releases through regression testing and exploratory testing.
- Collaborating with teams across different time zones in a fast-paced environment
- A Degree or Diploma in Computer science or similar field with solid JavaScript and C# skills
- 3 years of experience working as a tester in an Agile team
- Experience with Selenium/Webdriver based automation framework
- Experience testing APIs
- Experience with relational databases and querying data, SQL.
- Curiosity and a strong drive to discover and share useful information about systems
- Working knowledge of iterative/agile software development methodologies
- The ability to translate software requirements/stories into accurate and complete test scenarios, including identifying the detailed test data needs.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality software systems
- Strong communication, negotiation, networking, and influencing skills are essential because collaboration with end-users, technology, and operational functions are critical to the relevance of the product
- The ability to focus on multiple workstreams if necessary
- Ability to write in Typescript
- Experience with BDD and/or ATDD is a plus
- Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS preferably)
