The BlackRock Family Office and Foundations group in EMEA is currently made up of 11 members and is one of the fastest-growing client segments across BlackRock. The Family Office and Foundation team's coverage model includes the largest Family Offices across EMEA.

Client holdings are invested broadly across asset classes, with a focus on ETFs, active and alternatives products. The Family Offices Business offers a unique, platform and value-added proposition to this discrete market segment through:

About this Role

We are looking for a salesperson to join BlackRock's Family Office business in the DACH region. This is an established, multi-billion AUM business with a strong track record, as illustrated by the large range of clients that we have in region and the fact that, notwithstanding its existing scale, it is experiencing double digit growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing existing relationships, as well as developing new business with Single and Multi-Family Office clients across German-speaking Europe, with a focus on local Swiss-based families. They will be representing the entire range of BlackRock's investment capabilities - including traditional long-only strategies (active and index), alternative investments, and OCIO solutions - to Family Office clients in the region.

The successful candidate will benefit from local support, directly in team but also working together with the extensive partner resources that BlackRock has in region through its iShares & Wealth (iSW) and Institutional businesses (more than 60 salespeople in the DACH region). They will be able to leverage the breadth of the BlackRock platform, engaging with portfolio managers, product specialists, and market specialists from BlackRock Investment Institute (BII) among others, to bring the entirety of our offering to Family Office clients and prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

Relationship Manager for BlackRock's Family Offices and Foundations business in EMEA with specific responsibility for the following:

  • Develop long-term relationships with large Single and Multi-Family Offices within the target market, ultimately delivering upon financial objectives in terms of assets, net new revenue, new mandates, and product diversification
  • Proactively manage existing relationships; identify and defend at-risk business
  • Identify and pursue new investment opportunities through consultative dialogues with investors
  • Work collaboratively with partners across BlackRock globally, including specialist BlackRock investment groups, other sales teams, and client servicing teams, to meet clients' needs and objectives
  • Exploit the full breadth of the firm's expertise and strategies to bring innovative and timely ideas and solutions to clients
  • Develop product fluency across the full range of BlackRock's investment options - including a broad range of ETF and index offerings, alternative strategies, and active equity, fixed income and multi-asset funds
  • Control and regulatory: Successfully support the needs of our regulatory requirements as they pertain to Family Offices in the region. Ensure that an appropriate risk and controls environment exists on the team and that errors are escalated appropriately


Key qualifications

Ideally, we are looking for an experienced relationship manager or salesperson with proven business success covering institutionally sized German-speaking Family Offices. However, more importantly we are looking for someone who can talk about markets and have a relatively broad, whole portfolio conversation with clients and, as such, we are open-minded on background.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills/qualities:
  • In-depth knowledge across different asset classes and products, and a high level of comfort in communicating this information to clients, prospects and their advisors; Ability to talk about markets and have a relatively broad, whole portfolio conversation with clients
  • Self-starter with a systematic, structured and professional sales and relationship management approach
  • Team player, who builds an inclusive environment where a wide diversity of insights and expertise contribute to business results
  • Ability to drive innovation and incubation of new ideas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
