Are you someone who enjoys financial analysis and detecting potential risks in various Structured and Corporate Lending transactions? Are you motivated to take responsibility in a decision-making role? Do you like being in a position of challenge and authority?
We are looking for someone like this to:
• be a Credit Officer responsible for Structured and Corporate lending transactions : be involved in the underwriting, recommendations and the decision making processes
• independently analyze credit risks and engage with the front office to ensure transactions are consistent with UBS's underwriting risk appetite
• show the ability to work autonomously through the extensive Due Diligence process, identifying key business drivers, specific risk issues, actively challenging during due diligence calls, and highlighting any information gaps to the business teams
• provide senior level challenge to the front office regarding performance and financial condition of prospective and existing loan borrowers
• perform fundamental financial analysis for prospective structured lending transactions and corporate borrowers (covering financial, commercial, legal, tax, environmental & structuring)
• demonstrate full understanding of financial modelling, working on the production of Base and Downside cases ensuring that they reflect all key drivers and the due diligence findings
• produce a written credit memo for CRC Senior Management and be prepared to present your decision-making recommendation to Senior Management
• assign risk ratings and loss given default designation to all borrowers under your responsibility
• review loan documentation to ensure that it corresponds with internal approvals and adequately covers all transaction risks
• work on a variety of traded products and ensure that the ISDAs are properly structured and in line with policy Your team
The EMEA Commercial Lending team is responsible for independently assessing transaction risks, for constructively challenging all diligence work and financial modelling produced by the front office and for monitoring and controlling all risks in the IB loan portfolio. The team serves as the firm's second line of defense and is charged with independently assessing all risks associated with the origination, distribution and retained portfolio of corporate and structured transactions. It is directly responsible for assigning risk ratings and for ensuring our analytical standards are in compliance with regulatory expectations.

Your expertise
• a bachelor's degree in a relevant area of concentration and some level of formal credit training and an MBA/CFA is preferred
• strong knowledge of financial accounting concepts
• ideally 10+ years of relevant working experience in a leveraged finance transaction environment
• advanced credit skills
• working knowledge of Leveraged Finance and Structured Lending transaction (i.e. Special Situation loans, collateralized financing, holdco financing, margin loans)
• computer proficiency required in Excel, Word; experience with Bloomberg, KMV is helpful;
• strong oral and written communication skills
