The Executive Project Manager (EPM) role for Small Projects represents Morgan Stanley clients' needs and interests throughout the life cycle of a project whether it be all aspects of staff relocation, furniture ordering, or small scale construction projects. This position is customer service oriented, having direct interaction with internal clients, senior management, vendors, IT and other Corporate Services functional areas.
Primary Functional Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and help manage a team of outsourced vendor partners to support the strategic vision of the organization.
- Track projects from inception to completion. These projects include but are not limited to furniture orders, relocation projects, small scale construction projects
- Govern and coordinate multiple vendors in the day-to-day operation to ensure compliance with established processes
- Work with our vendor partners to establish project plans, schedules, and generate reports in the appropriate format and deliver in a timely manner
- Validate all estimates and actual vendor costs for all activity prior to being sent to the client for review and approval
Cross-Functional Roles & Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with other Morgan Stanley disciplines involved in the move process including, but not limited to IT, Voice, Telecommunications, Project Management and Procurement
- Work with Real Estate and Strategic Planning to understand strategy and standards to develop project workplans for implementation
- Work with Procurement on bidding projects and with our cost consultants to validate costs
- Meet with clients on a regular basis to ensure we are meeting their expectations in delivery of our services
Qualifications:
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5-10 years in Facilities Management, Project Management, Relocations, Vendor Management and/or IMAC
- Strong experience in move management, project management and vendor management
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal for interaction with clients and senior management
- Must be willing to work weekends, early hours, and evenings (when necessary,) and travel to support initiatives within the Morgan Stanley portfolio as needed.
- Goal oriented, hardworking, reliable individual that can work well in a team environment
- Confident and self-motivated individual with a proactive approach; leadership qualities; self-starter; willing to take initiative and follow through with minimum oversight.
- Needs to be able to prioritize in order to meet various clients requests and escalations; be able to multi-task and be highly organized
- Strong analytical and technical skills, with knowledge of standard software such as PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Possess a sense of urgency; to know your audience, and have the ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues and know when to escalate.
