ESG Portfolio Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTON 

The ESG Portfolio Analyst will develop Payden & Rygel’s solutions and data driven ESG analysis and process across asset classes and strategies. This role will be part of the ESG team and work closely with strategy teams to develop scalable and insightful portfolio solutions for clients. The candidate will bring a creative, resourceful, and pragmatic solutions-mindset to integrate ESG across the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Develop models and tools to support strategist, analyst, and client questions regarding ESG integration into the firm’s investment process as well as the development of new strategies and quantitative research
• Integrate regulatory and client specific needs into models with measurable ESG implementation
•  Build strong relationships internally with technology, legal, risk and strategy teams to enhance ESG portfolio solutions and externally with vendors to evaluate and onboard data providers to enhance capabilities
•  Provide insightful written commentary on ESG in the context of portfolio and market implications
•  Analyse a wide range of accounts and be able to clearly communicate the ESG implications to a variety of audiences in both verbal and written form
•  Participate in presentations, give updates at internal meetings and eventually for clients and prospects

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional experience with background in investment strategy, demonstrating practical knowledge of the portfolio construction and research processes; ideally applying quantitative methods to ESG investing
•  Strong interest and willingness to delve into ESG topics/analytics and structure portfolios to provide client solutions
•  Self-starter and team player with high attention to detail and ability to embrace the roles of both architect and doer
•  Ability to manage, prioritize and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously for various stakeholders
•  Strong mathematical and statistical skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
•  Highly proficient in Excel and Power Point, additionally ESG Data/SQL/Python/Tableau/API experience preferred

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Master’s Degree a plus
• CFA Charter holder or progress towards the designation a plus
