Director, Investments - CANADA INFRASTRUCTURE BANK (Calgary)

The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) is working in partnership with governments, Indigenous communities and the private sector to invest $35 billion in infrastructure that benefits Canadians. 

Based in the Calgary Office and reporting to the Managing Director, the Director, Investments is an active member of the CIB Investments team and will be focused on supporting the CIB’s Green Infrastructure – Energy Transition Portfolio. 

The candidate will have experience financing/developing (as lender, equity investor, project developer or advisor/banker) in the areas of Low Carbon Fuels (LCF), Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) and Hydrogen related infrastructure. Experience in the energy and utility sector will be considered an asset. Extensive experience in equity or debt and/or project finance structures is required.

Responsibilities include business development, screening potential investment opportunities, leading investment due diligence processes, structuring complex financial transactions, conducting sector analysis, understanding market and regulatory fundamentals, drafting of investment memoranda, and participating in investment decision-making processes.
