The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the accurate calculation and reporting of NAVs, AUVs and distributions for shareholders under direct supervision. Reconcile daily cash position, analyze daily income, and compile monthly financial information for reporting working with domestic funds of low to moderate complexity/volume.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the daily accounting and balancing for a public, life, and trust funds. This includes processing and a basic understanding of shareholder activity, fund expenses, distributions, foreign transactions, sub-advised funds, fund of funds, life separate account reserves and NAV impacts. Provide coverage as needed. It also requires a basic understanding of the Invest One and SAUV systems, mutual fund concepts, and specific fund characteristics/attributes.
  • Analytical review and problem solving for the fund. Verify accuracy of trade input and impacts to fund. Analyze daily income accruals and interest/dividend payments. Review separate account control balance differences. Prepare daily cash reconciliation and clear outstanding cash exception items on a timely basis. Review distributions. Communicate with transfer agents, custodians, and other departments as needed.
  • Prepare and review monthly reports for assigned funds. Accurate monthly information is relied upon by internal business partners and eventually external clients. Monthly tasks include income & expense recap, fixed expense analysis, security lending balancing, custodian reconciliation, reclaim balancing, and review trial balance and aged receivable reports. Review quarterly and/or annual distributions. The daily and monthly files are to be maintained and sent to storage on a timely basis.


Required Qualifications

  • Four year accounting/finance degree or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of securities accounting and reporting
  • Strong PC skills
  • Invest One/SAUV experience
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Positive, team work attitude
