Investment Analyst

Fidelity Security Life Insurance Company, and its affiliates (“FSL”), provide insurance and insurance related services to clients, corporations, employers, and individuals. These services include providing benefits through innovative life and health insurance plans, financial services, and customized insurance products for niche markets.

Position Summary

The Investment Analyst will assist the Head of Investments in managing all investment assets of the Company.  The majority of the nearly $1 billion investment portfolio consists of fixed income securities. 

Expectations and Duties

• Be involved in all aspects of the investment process for the company and its affiliated subsidiaries Assist in identifying and evaluating fixed income investment ideas for the Company Monitor collateral performance for non-agency RMBS, CLOs and CMBS securities Conduct and complete special projects Assist in the preparation of reports for both the Board of Directors and Investment Committee meetings Assist monitoring the yields and durations of the portfolios and ensure that assets and liabilities are adequately matched Monitor and track credit rating changes withing the fixed income portfolio. Track financial data and cash flows on private equity investments owned by the Company Be the liaison with other internal departments, including accounting and enterprise risk management

Competencies

• Previous Fixed Income experience in a portfolio management environment (Preferred) Competent analytical and financial modeling skills using Excel, including Pivot tables Experience with the Clearwater investment accounting system (Preferred) Understanding of insurance industry and regulatory laws (Preferred)

Prerequisites

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business related major 2+ yrs. experience in the financial services industry (Preferred) CFA Charter Holder (or progress/plans toward obtaining) and/or MBA in Finance (Preferred) Familiarity with a Bloomberg Terminal (Preferred)
