Position Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

Account Manager within the Asia Global Wealth Management team focused on business development and relationship management amongst our bank partners across Hong Kong and China. This position is based in Hong Kong.

Financial intermediaries across Asia are increasingly outsourcing business to investment management companies. This trend is being driven by a variety of factors - changing client demands, an emphasis on excellence and selecting best of breed managers and cost controls. Against this background, the Global Wealth Management channel continues to be a key source of business growth for PIMCO.

PIMCO is recruiting an Account Manager to lead our Chinese Offshore bank coverage (Mutual funds and Alternatives), GBAWC initiates, QDII, and work / partner closely with our Shanghai Office and the Private Bank Coverage Team in Hong Kong
This is a great opportunity to take ownership, grow a business and more importantly lead the Semi Liquid Alts conversations, which we are seeing a lot of demand from the Chinese banks.

The sales process to financial intermediaries is complex, varied and demanding - there is no single approach that is applied consistently. A successful sale may in some instances be established via a single point of contact while elsewhere it may revolve around more broad based discussions involving product selection experts, sales and commercial management and thought leaders within the client or prospect firm.

Consequently, to be successful in this area, it is essential for PIMCO to recruit a team member who understands how to sell in a potentially complex environment as well as having a deep understanding of investment management and the structuring of investment solutions. In addition, they must also be able to network and influence in an effective way throughout PIMCO.

The position is viewed as a key hire to continue building PIMCO's presence as part of the Greater Bay wealth connect scheme. This position is based in Hong Kong and reports directly to the Head of Asia Wealth Management (ex-Japan).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work to develop and execute a business development and relationship management strategy amongst our intermediary partners based in Hong Kong. PIMCO views this market segment as a strategic growth opportunity
  • Build and maintain a detailed knowledge of key business and strategic issues facing this market segment

  • Marketing of the full range of PIMCO's products and services to the assigned client base with the assistance of senior investment professionals where appropriate. Development and implementation of a plan to identify prospects and raise assets across all PIMCO's products
  • Ensure that all compliance and legal requirements are met and business is conducted in line with practice, taking appropriate action where necessary

  • Proven record in business development and relationship management working with the intermediary partners based in Hong Kong
