About the role

 

We are very excited to announce that we are currently seeking applications for Orica’s next Manager - Capital Evaluation for our expanding EMEA region. The role can be based in either our London (England) or Lisbon (Portugal) Office.

 

This is an exciting and rare opportunity, seeing the successful candidate forming a key leadership component within the EMEA finance team, leading Orica’s investment management processes including capital expenditure, trade working capital, and overhead cost control.

 

In this highly visible and critical role you will be responsible for partnering across functions, accountable for driving the long-term capital plan and annual budget including upfront guidelines, prioritisation and review.

 

This role requires complex financial analyses. It also has a high degree of stakeholder engagement, partnership and visibility; you must be comfortable with influencing to drive outcomes with senior leaders. You should be passionate about solving big and complex commercial problems using data, even when the answer or the problem is ambiguous. You should be eager to continuously learn and improve your skills.

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Guiding and enforcing the Capital Expenditure management framework including prioritisation processes and metrics across Orica's EMREA region;.
  • Driving the long-term capital plan and annual budget including upfront guidelines, prioritisation and review;
  • Managing Orica's Project Portfolio (PPM) tool including the release of project budgets post stage-gate approval;
  • Providing leadership, guidance and expertise for Capital Management within the Region to ensure an optimised allocation of capital expenditure;
  • Providing insightful reporting, analysis and commentary to highlight opportunities & optimise business overheads;
  • Accountable for reporting of Inventory and cashflow analysis, visibility and insight into underlying business financial performance;
  • Providing business support on decision making, target setting, investment and performance.

 

What you will bring

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business discipline;
  • Professional designation CA, CIMA or CPA;
  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • Prior experience with management of large scale capital expenditure programs;
  • People leadership experience in a large, global business;
  • 10 years post graduate experience in accounting or finance (or related discipline).
