As a team member of the first line Business & Entity Support team located in Sydney, the Business Risk Manager - Australia, will be instrumental in supporting the facilitation of first line business risk management to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and risk management objectives and represent business risk management for the legal entities and related business units in Australia.

What you will be responsible for
As the Business Risk Manager ("BRM") for Australia, you will be responsible for and support:

Business Risk Management
  • All functions, tasks and initiatives within the BRM scope for the Investment Services/Global Delivery (IS/GD) business and risk units for Australia including any implementation, governance program, risk assessment or reporting activities in relation to regulatory or BRM activities and initiatives.
  • Act as control reviewer for incidents in the incident capture management system. Provide advisory and guidance support for both issues and incidents, assist with incident wording, risk mapping, root cause analysis, development of remediation plans.
  • Understand and review the control framework associated with the business units, processes and legal entities to support the effective first line risk management oversight of the business units.
  • Completion of Business Impact Assessments (BIA's) for changes in local regulations in relation to legal entity and IS/GD business units.
  • Manage and analyse reporting for issues, incidents, regulatory change management for Legal Entity management and/or risk committees.
  • Review policy and procedure documents as directed for implementation at the legal entity level and assist and support implementation of policies and procedures as directed by regional business risk management.
  • Manage the conflicts of interest program and perform the role of Conflict Manager for relevant business units and the legal entity.

Legal Entity Governance
  • Coordinate, action and oversee relevant Legal Entity governance programs and activities to support regulatory compliance, change and reporting for all the Australian legal entities.
  • Facilitate and provide assistance for the legal entity and business units during Corporate Audits and other internal testing or queries related to the functional tasks of the role.
  • Work with the team to understand, support and manage all components of business, compliance and operational risk and the regulatory obligations in relation legal entity governance.

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Country Lead for IS/GD Business Unit
  • Understanding of the AML/KYC framework to support the control process of AML.
  • Responsibility to ensure that Business units within the IS/GD legal entity complete AML related tasks and meet all AML program requirements including oversight of AML reconciliations performed by Business Units.
  • Responsible to support organizational reviews relating to local AML procedures.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree holder with experience in financial services preferred or if non degree holder, strong proven experience in this field.
