Team & Role:

The Governance & Control Team resides in the First Line of Defense of the business and supports all elements of the Clearance & Collateral Management (CCM) First line. The team based domestically supports the CCM business Globally and the role will be supporting all products within CCM, will support locally from team members within the CCM Governance & Control team.

Responsibilities:

The core responsibilities will be to support the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) control testing process and team. This process includes but is not limited to; assessing the design & operating effectiveness controls mitigating the business' key risk, considering BNYM and Business Policies & Procedures and in line with the respective regulations, working with business partners to create & enhance processes and documenting the control testing process, approach, and outcome to senior management. Interprets regulations affecting control standards with large degree of independence and suggests methods of updating policies and practices to address any risk concerns. Prepares reports and provides insight to business on control / risk management including Error / Near Miss analyses. Responsible for interpreting regulations in order to adjust and improve internal controls. Tests control systems and communicates the successful and efficient performance of control and business recovery procedures. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives. Supports moderately complex projects and provides insight on interpretation of regulations and how they apply to the business and further add value to the business.

The successful candidate will demonstrate/possess:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • 3-5 years of total work experience preferred.
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is preferred.
