Increase Columbia Management sales through intermediary distributors by gaining and maintaining placement on research department discretionary and nondiscretionary platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategic plan for covering each firm's research department. Partner with National Accounts to coordinate the overall firm strategy with the research platform strategy and to maximize the value of nondiscretionary platform placements.
  • On a quarterly basis, establish an objective with each analyst within each firm that facilitates progress toward platform placement and create an action plan to accomplish the goal within 90-days.
  • Execute a high level of sales activity to deepen relationships with each research department, diversify analyst network, identify platform opportunities, and progress through the platform placement process.
  • Cultivate knowledge in the areas of economics, capital markets, and Columbia Management investment strategies by studying industry content and participating in Columbia Management investment discussions and product trainings.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience, preferably within an asset management organization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of capital markets and the mutual fund research process.
  • Proven track record of developing relationships with professional buyers to influence investment decisions.
  • Experience analyzing mutual funds, and(or) recommended lists & discretionary models, identifying opportunities and strategically positioning strategies.
  • Series 7, state securities agent registration (S63 or S66) and state IAR registration (S65 or S66) or the ability to obtain within a defined period of time.


Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA or significant progress toward CFA
